The 50cc has a top speed of about 30 mph but lacks power in the hills. The 150cc has a higher top speed (50-60 mph) and do much better in the hills and with passengers. We typically recommend 150s for those areas. 200cc and higher (up to 500cc) are go anywhere bikes and are very comfortable on the Bay Bridge and the like. Our TGB Europa 400cc has a top speed of 80-100 mph.

This, however, doesn’t include the possibility that riding a scooter could be fun!! Pleasure rides could very well involve greater distances, higher speeds, and larger loads- maybe even a passenger. Our best selling scooter are in the 150cc category as people like the extra power for the hills and for faster moving surface streets. In California, 150cc and larger scooters are freeway legal.
